Move The Needle

Sometimes in my life I have asked myself, “Have I moved the needle today?” 

To be clear, it is not an actual needle. It is something in me I want to create. 

You might be asking yourself, “Where did this desire to be a change agent come from?” I guess you could say it happened at birth. I don't  believe in astrology signs, but my birth sign is the scale of justice. Enough said. 

The needle, to me, represents the next battle. 

If you are reading this, it doesn’t matter what field you are in, there is always a desire to make your corner of the world better and hope that it spreads to others. 

The desire to move the needle can be all-consuming for me. I understand that to be true.

So, I guess this is serving as a reminder to myself and to all of you who are reading this that the infamous moving of the needle happens with every  discussion you have. Whether it works out in your favor or not, remember it has to start somewhere. 

Give yourself some grace, because nothing would have happened to create that movement or that ripple without the desire to leave this world better than if you did nothing at all.
