Billable

The systems that give us services live in billable units.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that’s how systems work sometimes.

I always think about my first 15 minutes of the billable unit. They better be good ones, because they set the tone for rest of the day.

When I think about the goals I set for myself, they really don't fit into a drop-down box of service options. I like that because it is my attempt to make the system as person-centered as it can be for me. 

I encourage everyone to think about their lives as a menu. Do you want a boring menu with choice options that someone else or a group of other people made for you? Or do you want an exciting menu that allows you to choose what you want? The system works for you. You don't work for the system.
